At SHOT Show 2026 at the SNT Motiv area they had a Daewoo K1A. SNT Motiv, the South Korean conglomerate, absorbed Daewoo Industries decades ago. The South Korean military classifies it as a submachine gun (기관단총) due to its role in close-quarters, vehicle crew, and rear-echelon duties.
The K1 entered service in 1981, marking one of South Korea’s first successful modern domestically designed small arms, with a short 10.4-inch barrel and telescoping wire stock. It takes standard AR mags and is seriously one of the best-looking guns out there.
