While in Poland for MSPO 2024 I stopped by some gunshops to see what’s available. The dealer had some full-autos in stock including this sweet PM-63. This one has the circle 11 indicating Radom manufacture, as well as a manufacture date of 1971.
While working the action I was surprised how tight and smooth the slide was. It was almost glassy like a custom 1911 slide, not what you would expect from a 1970s Eastern-Bloc subgun.
Full autos are only available to dealers with special licenses though stocking full-autos seems more common than American gunshops. Both gunshops I went to had a number of full autos in stock. Full-autos are also available for rental at gun ranges.
Also note that on the lower right is the engraving “Full Auto Garand.” The dealer I went to is Sklep z bronią i amunicją GARAND, which translates to “Garand Weapons and Ammunition”. Their logo has the classic M1 Garand on it. They were really positive guys and I appreciated that they were willing to show me some of their inventory (I just showed up, they didn’t know I was coming).
