While visiting France last year after the IWA 2024 show in Nuremburg, I went to the MM Park World War 2 Museum that is just a few miles north of Strasbourg. The museum is full of really interesting WW2 weapons and vehicles, I highly recommend you visit. This SMG was only manufactured for a short period during WW2 in Italy and is quite a complex design.
Here is what the display card says, translated from French:
Type: Submachine gun
Reference: 9x19mm
Ammunition: 40 cartridges
Only 7,000 produced between 1943 and 1945
Made in Italy by the National Arms Factory of Trescia
Used by the Italian Army, the Wehrmacht, and the Algerian FLN in the 1950s
Modern weapon for the time: compact, folding stock, and hinged magazine well.
Forgotten weapons did a much more in-depth video on this fascinating design, here is the link FNAB-43 Video
